B2960520) Barite with Fluorite, Sphalerite - Stonewall, Central Tennessee Ba-F-Pb-Zn District, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA Size: 8.6 x 5.6 x 3.3 cm (small cabinet) Price: $ 750
An outstanding combination piece featuring well defined bladed white crystals of barite forming a sort of hemispherical crystal grouping measuring 5.7 x 5.6 x 2.9 cm in size, this set with a pale purple transparent cubic fluorite crystal measuring 3.3 x 2.9 x 2.5 cm in size. Minor crystallized black sphalerite is also in association. This is a little different for barite from the mining district; the quality is excellent. Size: 8.6 x 5.6 x 3.3 cm. Damage-free. B2960287) Barite with Sphalerite - Elmwood mine, Carthage, Central Tennessee Ba-F-Pb-Zn District, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA Size: 8.3 x 7.3 x 5.6 cm (small cabinet) Price: SOLD
This is an oustanding crystallized small cabinet sized barite specimen! Typically these form spherical clusters like the one seen here, but rarely are they complete all of the way around 360 degrees like this one. The matrix is mostly scattered with lustrous complex black sphalerite crystals to 1.2 cm in size. Free and clean of any damage - the quality is outstanding for the species at this locality! Size: 8.3 x 7.3 x 5.6 cm. Ex Dr. Steven Neely collection #287. F2960333) Fluorite with Sphalerite - Elmwood mine, Carthage, Central Tennessee Ba-F-Pb-Zn District, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA Size: 10.4 x 7.3 x 6.4 cm (cabinet) Price: $ 2500
A crystallized lustrous black sphalerite matrix measuring 10.4 x 7.3 x 6.4 cm in size is mostly covered by large lustrous translucent deep purple cubic fluorite crystals, the largest measuring to 3.7 cm on edge. One fluorite crystal shows a very slightly cleaved corner, this visible in the photos. Other than this, the piece is in razor sharp perfect condition. A great cabinet sized example from this classic locality! Ex Dr. Steven Neely collection #333. F2960184) Fluorite with Sphalerite, Dolomite - Gordonsville Mine, Carthage, Central Tennessee Ba-F-Pb-Zn District, Smith Co., Tennessee, USA Size: 14.6 x 8.4 x 8.1 cm (cabinet) Price: $ 2000
A beautiful and showy cabinet sized combination piece featuring a 14.6 x 8.4 x 8.1 cm dolomite crystal coated matrix, the top mostly covered by lustrous black sphalerite crystals. Studded upon these sphalerite crystals are several lustrous deep purple translucent cubic fluorite crystals, the largest measuring 2.6 x 2.6 x 2.3 cm in size. I can only find one slightly cleaved fluorite crystal corner, this on one of the most least prominent fluorite crystals present. You really have to look to find this. Overall this is in outstanding condition damage-wise. A fine large cabinet piece from this classic locality! Ex Dr. Steven Neely collection #184.
